New Work

El Lamento – Text + actor Carlos Trafic / Music + Paino Herbert de Jonge
An ironic research inspired on Antigone of Sophocles – Carlos Trafic took this classical myth-lamentation as a point of departure. He would like to show how the king Creon, the uncle of Antigone, is obsessed with the extreme idea that he never will die in order to be confronted with his own destiny. Through games, small scenes and stories, body language and as well raps, like techniques of complaint, the actor is confronted with his own limits of expression between reality and hallucination – The lyric music composed and played by the pianist Herbert de Jonge creates an atmosphere which gives frame to the play – The show is performed in english with some songs in Spanish.
Carlos Trafic has developed his work in different avant garde groups like “ grupo lobo “ (Buenos Aires) “Dharma theatre” (Sao Paulo) and “The living theatre” (New York). He performed in the Festival of Fools with Okay Doc and as well in the Mickery theater (Amsterdam) leading by the avant garde artist director Ritsaert ten Cate.
